Governance Training

Our custom governance training helps your directors and officers get up to speed quickly and enhance their skills each year. The training is not out of a box, it’s customized exclusively for your organization.

Zzeem focuses exclusively on not-for-profit associations in our consulting work, and we have been serving this sector for over two decades.

The deliverable for the training is a highly interactive workshop that provides both basic governance training for new directors and more advanced content for seasoned directors. We use a combination of knowledge sharing, breakout groups, and real life case studies focused on the areas that matter most to you right now.

Our workshops are facilitated by Erin Roberts, a not-for-profit governance expert.  She is an award-winning facilitator, public speaker, and management consultant to not-for-profit organizations.

MITIGATES RISK AND FOSTERS GOVERNANCE EXCELLENCE

Sometimes the biggest challenges for boards result from a lack of knowledge. Directors are trying to do their best but they have no governance training. “Common sense” is not that common when it comes to governance principles.

BUILDS CONFIDENCE

Boards perform much more effectively when their leaders have the support resources to give them a high level of confidence in the execution of their role.

SHORTENS THE LEARNING CURVE

Often officers take on their leadership roles with little experience. It takes time for them to get up to speed.

This is particularly challenging when the Chair has a short term of service. Just as they are hitting their stride, they hand over the role to a new Chair who must go through the same learning curve.

Hear what people think:

“The governance training offered by Zzeem provided our directors with a solid foundation to take with them, not only into their work with us, but also into other boards they may be part of. Erin’s ability to manage tough discussions helped us destigmatize some of the more sensitive topics, like conflict and confidentiality. We also learned more about our bylaws and how to best serve them with new policies. I would highly recommend this training.”
